Each module focuses on industry of a specific type, and can be disabled at game start through the settings menu. Rise of Cosmic Industry is composed of 7 modules Factory Automation, Space Exploitation, Orbital Infrastructure, Realistic Development, Fallen Empire Buildings, Cargo Ships, and Shipping Costs.
